Administrators and webmasters can turn a site's edit status on or off, determining whether editorial changes can be made to a site. When a site's edit status is off, no users—including administrators and webmasters—can add or edit articles or tips for the site.
If you are adding or removing sections or making extensive changes to a site's HTML templates, it is good practice to turn the edit status off while you do this work. If new content is added while you are midway through the update, some portions of the site design and navigation may not match others, creating confusion for your site's visitors.
To change a site's edit status, click the "Site's Edit Status" link under "Setup" in the left-column menu of the Big Medium control panel. Checking the "Allow content changes to this site" option turns the site on. Unchecking this option turns it off.
The edit status is completely transparent to your site's visitors, who may continue to use your website whatever its edit status. Changes in edit status affect only the ability to add or edit Big Medium content on the site.
