Widget Tag
++QUICKTEASE:SectionSlug++
++QUICKTEASE:SubsectionSlug++
This widget uses a special syntax that includes the slug of the section or subsection for which you would like to display the quickteaser. For example, if the "Shotz Brewery" subsection of your "Laverne & Shirley" fan site has the slug shotz, the widget tag would be:
++QUICKTEASE:shotz++
What It Does
The ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widget displays the top article(s) from the section or subsection whose slug you include in the widget tag. (The "slug" is the internal name for a section or subsection. For more on slug names, see the section slug help page). The result is a link to the main page of the section or subsection, followed by one or more links to the latest article(s) from that section or subsection.
For example, suppose your "Laverne & Shirley" fan site has a section titled "Shotz Brewery" (slug name: shotz), and the latest article in that section is titled "Life in the Bottle-Capping Division." The widget for ++QUICKTEASE:shotz++ would display as:
[In Shotz Brewery]
Life in the Bottle-Capping Division
The Markup Results
The ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ markup takes one of two forms depending on the following "Design and Layout Method" and "Page Header" settings in your site's widget settings.
++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widget is a block element, enclosed in a <div> tag.++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widget is a block element enclosed in a <p> tag.
In both types of layout, if you have thumbnail images enabled for the type of link format used by the ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widget (long-format or short-format, depending on your widget settings), you may encounter an alignment problem for html that follows the ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widget.
The alignment problem occurs when the text of the last link in the list is not long enough to "clear" a right-aligned or left-aligned thumbnail image. As a result, any html following the widget will try to flow around the thumbnail image, creating an effect you may not want. To address this, it is recommended that you follow the ++QUICKTEASE:slug++ widget with a <div> block like so:
++QUICKTEASE:slug++
<div style="clear:both"> </div>
