What It Does
The ++TIP++ widget displays the site's current "tip" text, as well as a link to the site's tip archive page. Tips are brief snippets of "micro-content" that you can use, for example, to display testimonials, quotes, did-you-know factoids or product tips. For more information on tips and how to add them to your site, check the tip editor help file.
The Markup Results
The markup for the ++TIP++ widget takes one of two forms depending on the "Tips to display in ++TIP++ widget" setting in the "News and Tips" panel of the site's widget settings:
++TIP++ widget is a string of HTML block elements wrapped in a <div> tag. Within that <div>, the tip headline is displayed inside a <p> tag, and the tip text is displayed in <p> tags wrapped in a <div> tag. The link to the site's tip archive page is displayed in a <p> tag.++TIP++ widget is a set of JavaScript instructions inside <script> tags.Templates Using this Widget
You can use this widget in all page templates.
Customizing the Widget
Users with webmaster or administrator accounts can customize this widget in the site's widget editor. Changes to these settings appear on the live site only after you use the Tip Editor to save a new tip or edit an existing tip.
