Volunteer to Help with a Committee

The Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce has a wide variety of committees that serve the interests of the community. These committees, goals and monthly meeting times include:

Business Division: 1st Tuesday at noon - Chamber Conference Room

Be a catalyst for the retention, growth and attraction of business to the Jacksonville community.

Health and Community Agencies: 1st Wednesday, at noon - Chamber Conference Room

Address health care issues, produce Health Care Provider's Guide, and sponsor annual Health Fair. Promote issues affecting area social services.

Promote positive Chamber image and coordinate programs that will promote networking and retention of Chamber membership.

Coordinate and promote school-to-work among businesses, schools, colleges and students. Promote more involvement by businesses and volunteers in school system; support excellence in the system and host the annual Teacher Appreciation Reception.

Sponsor Agri-Business banquet and Illinois Food Products Expo.

Golf Outings: Call 245-2174 for date and time of meetings

Organize three fund-raising golf events.

Government Affairs: Call 245-2174 for date and time of meetings

Monitor and lobby on business issues and arrange mettings with legislators.

Steak Fry: Call 245-2174 for date and time of meetings

Plan steak fry fund-raising event

Transportation: Call 245-2174 for date and time of meetings

Address local and regional air, rail, road and street improvements.

The Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce works for you largely through the volunteers who bring their ideas and talents to committee meetings. Please feel free to attend these meetings, and bring your ideas with you. Your ideas and opinions are vital to the success of the Chamber in meeting the needs of its membership.
