Student Volunteer Awards

Students – Start documenting your 2017 volunteer hours now! Volunteerism enriches our community and makes many activities and resources available that would not otherwise exist. Volunteering as a student, can lead to continued participation in this valuable life-long activity. It also can lead to developing career, scholarship, and recognition opportunities for those students involved.

To encourage our youth to participate in this valuable life-long activity, the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual Mayors’ Student Volunteer Award and the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The purpose of these awards is to recognize and honor students who have enriched the area served by the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce through their volunteerism over the past year. These awards will be presented by area Mayors and Village Presidents at the annual recognition reception in the spring of 2018.

To recognize the importance of volunteerism for our community and for the nation, students are eligible to receive both the Mayors’ Award and the President’s Award in accordance with the number of hours contributed in a calendar year. Information about both awards is included here. One application and service record can be used to apply for both awards. All applications and documentation are due to the Chamber of Commerce office no later than February 1, 2018.
