• Financial Assistant - Accounts Payable

    Job Summary
    Performs general fiscal activities pertaining to the maintenance of the Agency’s accounting records under the general direction of the Business Office Supervisor and/or Finance Director.  Is supervised and evaluated by the Business Office Supervisor and/or Finance Director.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Receives all incoming bills and statements verifying for conformity to purchase authority policy and correctness of statement, assigns appropriate account codes, and enters all authorized bills into Accounts Payable system.
    • Utilizes and maintains the accounts payable module of the current accounting software.
    • Processes checks on a pre-arranged schedule.
    • Assists in preparing reports as requested by managers.
    • Prepares all purchase orders, assists in performing purchasing functions and preparing bids.
    • Completes all annual training requirements.
    • May be required to assist during emergency situations.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.
    Skills and Qualifications
    Must have verifiable documentation of education. Associate’s degree in accounting or comparable demonstrated skill development and two (2) or more years of general accounting experience. Proficient in spreadsheet applications and accounting software. Experience with persons with developmental disabilities and other physical and mental challenges preferred. Ability to read, as measured by the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and to meet the physical qualifications required for this position. Fingerprint Criminal Background Check and Essential Functions Test/Pre-Employment Physical and Drug Screen are required. Must have a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record. May have flexible varied work schedule in order to complete high priority tasks. This is a professional position which requires good verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to prioritize responsibilities.  Ability to interact and communicate with individuals served by our Agency, employees, parents/guardians, State/Federal staff members, and other supervisory/management personnel.

    Rate of Pay
    $38,000 - $39,500 per year
